Alnwick Castle is one of the North East's premier tourist attractions with around 200,000 visitors each year. It is home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland and their family and as the second largest inhabited Castle in the country, is often referred to as "the Windsor of the North" Bought by the Percy family in 1309, it has played an important role in local history throughout the ages. Today it is also the centre of a modern and thriving business but remains at the heart of the local community.
