We're sure that whatever your age or interests you'll find lots to see and do on any visit to the mightly medieval fortress of Alnwick Castle - one of Europe's finest.
This magnificent Castle has a long a colourful life. It has been at the centre of many of the country's famous historical events - from bloodthirsty battles between English and Scots to the dramatic intriques of the Guy Fawkes plot.
Today it is a 'must see' visitor attraction and the family home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. Like every home, there are sure signs to be found of those that came before us. Sometimes that's the very structure of the building; the decorative style; the treasures that they've left; and sometimes just the stories we still like to share.
Around every corner, there's a memory and around many there's a surprise. At almost every step there's a story, at a few a mystery, at others a romance or a feud.
Step inside and be part of a story that never ends.
Access & Facilities
Due to the age and nature of the Castle disabled access is limited in some areas. There is partial access for wheelchairs, pushchairs, sight and hearing dogs. Please contact us prior to visiting if you have special access requirements.
