Much Ado About Nothing - Sunday 7th of July - Hulne Abbey
Returning from the battlefield as brave soldiers, Claudio and Benedick find themselves battling feelings of the heart as they are reunited with Hero and Beatrice. A series of misunderstandings, mistaken identity, and a scheming brother threatens to sabotage Claudio's attempts to woo Hero. Meanwhile, Benedick and Beatrice find themselves stubbornly fighting their feelings for one another.

Macbeth - Tuesday 9th of July - Alnwick Castle
Macbeth, a valiant warrior, becomes consumed by greed when three witches tell of a prophecy that he will one day become king of Scotland. Urged on by his scheming wife, Macbeth takes fate into his own hands, setting in motion an ever more desperate struggle for power. Will the rise of a tyrant see the downfall of a once victorious man?

Event Information (Both Venues)

 
  • Please read the additional information for both evenings that will be made available by clicking here.
  • Gates will open at 6pm, with the performance starting at 7pm.
  • This is an outside performance so please come prepared. You may want to check the weather forecast before setting of.
  • You are welcome to bring low-backed chairs, cushions and rugs to sit on. Please do not bring umbrellas as they can block the view for others.
  • Picnics are welcome however both events have a strict no glass policy and we ask that you do not bring alcohol onto the premises. Catering arrangments will be announced closer to the event.
  • In the event of poor weather conditions (such as heavy rain or thunderstorms) we may take the decision to move either performance into the Guest Hall of Alnwick Castle. However we want people to enjoy the outdoors and the stunning backdrop we provide, therefore every effort will be made to keep the performance outside.
  • Please note that bag searches may take place for the benefit and security of visitors and staff. Your kind co-operation is much appreciated.

Terms & Conditions
1. When you have purchased your tickets please check the details carefully.
2. You must produce a valid ticket for this event to be permitted entry to the venue (printed or on a mobile device).
3. Audio, video or photographic recordings are not permitted at any time during the performance.
4. You should always check that the event is going ahead at the time and date you purchased the ticket for. The decision to change or cancel the event is the responsibility of Alnwick Castle. If we make a significant change to the show time, Alnwick Castle will try to inform you via email. In urgent cases it may be by phone.
5. Once purchased, tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded other than for the circumstances set out below:
  • If we fail to fulfil an order as a result of any negligence, or similar act or omission of our own or in breach of contract the customer will be entitled to a full refund of the ticket.
  • If the event is cancelled, postponed or changes are made to the event.
6. We will not refund any travel costs associated with a cancellation.
7. No refunds will be given for the following:
  • If your ticket is lost or stolen.
  • If you decide to leave the performance once it has started.
  • If you fail to comply with these terms and conditions.
8. If these terms are not complied with, we reserve the right to refuse entry or eject you from the venue.
9. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Modifications shall be effective immediately.

Much Ado About Nothing at Hulne Abbey

Entrance to Hulne Park will be via the B6346. The nearest Post Code to Hulne Abbey is NE66 2LJ.
Parking for this event will be in a neighbouring field to Hulne Abbey. Disabled Parking will be available.
Do not enter Hulne Park via Ratten Row as this road does not provide access to the Abbey.

Macbeth at Alnwick Castle

Entrance to the castle for this performance will be through the Iron Railings on Castle Square (Post Code NE66 1NG).
If parking for this event, please park on the nearby streets (Bailiffgate Road, The Peth, Rattern Row, Walkergate, or the public car parks on Greenwell Road). Do not park in the main castle car park on Denwick Land as there will be no access to the castle from this car park.
About The Three Inch Fools
 
The Three Inch Fools are a five-strong troupe of actors with all manner of musical instruments, travelling with set, props, costumes and camping gear. This year they return for two special performances.

The Three Inch Fools perform Shakespeare in almost any kind of setting. To date they have performed in castles, gardens, churches, village greens, an old fire station and a garlic farm! To them all the world's a stage. This summer will be their fourth year on the road, and it is set to be their biggest adventure yet, with more than 70 performances and over three-months of travel.
