Medieval Craft Demonstration

Take part in the creation of crafts from centuries gone by with our resident artisans.

A different hands-on demonstration will be on display each day, ranging from designing a medieval tile to medieval soap making, or even creating a magic wand! This is a fun activity for all ages.

Costumes

Dress up in medieval costume, play traditional games in the square, and take your place on the throne of Hotspur Hall!

Medieval Life Explored

Join our knowledgeable artisans to learn more about what castle life was really like hundreds of years ago.

Talks will change daily, ranging from medieval medicine, arms and armour, to the art of medieval writing! Visit our Artisans Courtyard to discover our 'Talk of the Day'.

Dragon Quest

Are you brave enough to enter the Dragon's lair?

Calling all dragon hunters!

Are you brave enough to venture through the perils of Dragon Quest? Journey through the mirror maze, over the fiery bridge and hold on tight at the whirlpool to see how many different dragons you can find!

Dragon Quest is open daily and free with admission, entry is via Artisans Courtyard.

(Dragon Quest can be scary for little ones but is great for families with children aged between 5 and 12 years old. If you are unsure if Dragon Quest is suitable for younger members of your group please speak to one of the Artisans who will be able to offer some advice.)

Please be aware of the following:

Dragon Quest contains dramatic and strobe lighting, uneven surfaces and loud sound effects.
Please stay with your group and do not stray from the path.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Dragon Quest may not be suitable for younger children or those of a nervous disposition.
CCTV is in operation throughout Dragon Quest.
