Free adult admission ticket for every fifth paying student in Key Stages 1 and 2 or for every tenth paying student in Key Stages 3 and 4.

Admission to the State Rooms of Alnwick Castle, Dragon Quest, Artisans Courtyard and all other areas of the castle grounds.

From storytelling for Key Stage 1 and crafts for Key Stage 2, to castle construction with maths for Key Stage 3, there’s something for every group.
Our curriculum-linked workshops are tailored to each Key Stage and last 35–45 minutes, leaving plenty of time to engage and explore the castle further.

Educational Tours
Enhance your school visit with a guided tour or specialist talk at Alnwick Castle.
For Key Stages 1–4, enjoy a 30-minute tour led by our expert guides or a 15–20 minute specialist talk tailored to your students’ learning. Explore the castle grounds and uncovering stories from Harry Hotspur to the Tudors — and even Harry Potter filming secrets.

Artisans Courtyard & Dragon Quest
A day of learning wouldn’t be complete without a visit to our Artisans Courtyard. In this interactive area of the castle, students can participate in medieval craft demonstrations, dress up in historical costumes, sit on the throne of Hotspur Hall, and play traditional games.
Finish your educational school trip with a venture into the Dragon’s lair, where students can conquer our Dragon Quest.

Broomstick Training
Book one of our famous Broomstick Training sessions, held in the very location where Harry Potter had his first flying lesson!
With expert guidance from our instructors, you’ll learn basic skills such as cornering, manoeuvring, accelerating, and braking.
Please note that school Broomstick Training sessions are an additional cost; see our Groups Activities page for more details.
Education ticket prices for Alnwick Castle
Here are our current prices for Alnwick Castle’s educational visits:

Primary school prices: £7.30 per student (plus one free adult ticket per five students).

Secondary school prices: £7.30 per student (plus one free adult ticket per 10 students).

Further education prices: £15.25 per student (plus one free adult ticket per 15 students)

Additional teacher/adult prices: £16.50 per adult.
