Step 1
Have a read through all the education information on our website. Check our workshops, prices, what's included, the terms and conditions (see below) and the dates available. If you require any further information give us a call or send us an email, our details are below and someone from our education team would be more than happy to explain things in more details.
 
Step 2
Once everything is confirmed with us we will send you a confirmed booking form with relevant information such as booking reference number, workshops booking, date and time of arrival etc.

Education Bookings Terms & Conditions

General

  1. Our education programme is only available to domestic education establishments (those within England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, in addition to UK Forces schools based overseas) registered with the UK Government.
  2. Our educational rates are only available during selected term time dates. All dates are displayed our on website.
  3. Our education dates have limited capacity therefore we may not always be able to accommodate a visit on a specific date.
  4. When arriving at Alnwick Castle, tickets can be collected on site at an admission point.
  5. It is the duty and responsibility of the group leader(s) to ensure the safeguarding of their group at all times during their visit. This includes, but not limited to, during workshops, use of toilet facilities and exploring all parts of Alnwick Castle.
  6. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  7. As a historical attraction we expect all visitors to be respectful of other visitors and staff. Group leaders should take responsibility for the behaviour of the members of their group. Should you or a member of your group act in an improper or disorderly manner we reserve the right to withdraw services or to terminate the booking. Should this occur, no monies will be refunded.
  8. You agree to undertake your own risk assessment for your visit outside of the documents provided by Alnwick Castle relating to the activities we deliver. Copies of the risk assessment must be available on request by us.
  9. You agree to make good all damage caused by your group.
  10. Due to the nature of the Alnwick Castle site, the visitor attraction consists largely of open air spaces, with limited cover in a wet weather scenario. We will endeavour to find suitable lunch space for your group in the event of wet weather. However, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to fully accommodate your group in a covered area during wet weather.
  11. By finalising and confirming your booking, you agree to these terms and conditions.
  12. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Modifications shall be effective immediately.
 

Booking

  1. Bookings that include a workshop and/or catering requirements must be booked no less than four weeks in advance.
  2. Bookings must be finalised no less than two weeks before the visit day.
  3. Pre-visit forms must be submitted no less than seven days prior to your visit.
  4. Bookings that do not include a workshop can be booked within seven days of the visit.
  5. Once a booking is confirmed you will be eligable for two free teacher pre-visit tickets.
  6. Payment can be made by credit card, cheque or BACS.

 

Cancellations

  1. If you need to cancel your booking you must inform us in writing as soon as possible.
    1. Cancellations made more than seven days in advance of the scheduled visit will be entitled to a full refund.
    2. Cancellations made less than seven days in advance of the scheduled visit will be charged 50% of the total visit.
    3. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance of the scheduled visit will be charged 100% of the visit.
  2. We reserve the right, without prejudice, to any other right or remedy available, to terminate or suspend any booking forthwith or at our discretion without any further responsibility on our part in the event that;
    1. any part of Alnwick Castle is closed due to fire or water damage or due to alterations or redecoration or any occurrences beyond our control which shall prevent us from performing our obligations in connection with your booking;
    2. the permanent or temporary closure of the Castle or any part thereof by us for commercial, operational or financial reasons.
  3. In the unfortunate case of a cancellation by us for whatever reason, we will notify you as far in advance as possible and will arrange a full refund of the monies paid but will have no other obligation or liability to you.

 

Workshops / Activities

  1. Workshops are only available during selected term time dates. All dates are displayed our on website.
  2. Only groups who have completed an Additional Activities Form can make use of the workshop sessions or private tours listed on the form.
  3. Groups should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their first booked activity.
  4. If there is a possibility you may be late for your booked activity, please inform us at your earliest convenience.
    1. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled activity, we will endeavour to run it as planned, but cannot guarantee this will be possible. If it is not possible for us to deliver the activity or workshop no refund will be given.
  5. In the event of wet or otherwise inclement weather, we may be unable to run some of our activities in their intended form.
  6. Should we have to cancel a booked activity due to poor weather conditions, you will be refunded in full for the cost of that activity.
  7. Groups may make use of daily activities such as armoury talks and public guided tours, times of which will be confirmed on site on your visit date, as well as access to public areas of Alnwick Castle's visitor attraction and the Fusiliers Museum of Northumberland.
  8. Groups are not permitted to take part in our daily Broomstick Training activity.
  9. Some daily activities may be limited for educational bookings.
