KITCHEN ASSISTANTS

Alnwick Castle is now recruiting for Kitchen Assistants. Your role will be to prepare and assemble food under the supervision of the Head Chef. Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. If you have a passion for cooking and are interested in pursuing a profession in catering or hospitality this is the ideal job for you. 

A positive attitude to work is essential and you must be eager to learn and develop your current skill set.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required.

Apprentice Joiner / Apprentice Painter

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Joiner at Northumberland Estates.
 
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The post aims to provide a training opportunity for a suitable candidate working under the direction and guidance of experienced Staff Members, to support the delivery of repairs and maintenance services.
The role is both workshop and site based. Work-based training will be enhanced through college-based study towards a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Carpentry and Joinery on a day release basis, to achieve the skills and experience to become a qualified tradesperson.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive training in carpentry and joinery skills, including college attendance on a day-release basis, and assist in undertaking duties and tasks associated with the repair, maintenance, improvement, and refurbishment of properties within the Northumberland Estates traditional property portfolio along with other services provided by the Clerk of Works Department, working in a safety conscious manner.
 
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
·Minimum of three GCSE’s (Grade C/4), including Mathematics and English.
·Punctuality
·An interest in Carpentry & Joinery with a willingness and desire to learn with an attention to detail.
·Ability to accept instruction and direction from Supervisors.
·Compliance with all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and training requirements
No specific previous experience is required for this role.
