The nearest train station to Alnwick Castle is Alnmouth Station, located just four miles away. The journey from Alnmouth Station to the castle takes around 10 minutes by taxi or local bus. For convenience, we recommend pre-booking a taxi in advance, especially during peak travel periods.

Alnwick has excellent local and regional bus connections, with stops throughout the town and a central bus station just a short walk from the castle.
From Newcastle, the X15, X18, and X20 buses depart regularly from Haymarket Bus Station, offering a scenic route through the Northumberland countryside. The Alnwick Bus Station is only a five-minute walk from Alnwick Castle’s main entrance.
