Standard Ticket Terms and Conditions
  • Admission tickets are not transferable and are non-refundable
  • All tickets purchased via our website are automatic annual passes. Tickets purchased on the gate can be upgraded at no additional cost
  • Tickets must be shown at the point of entry on the date of your visit
  • Alnwick Castle reserve the right to revoke any day tickets at their discretion
  • Tickets to Alnwick Castle do not give access to The Alnwick Garden. The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei at The Alnwick Garden are separate visitor attractions with their own events, admission policies and visiting arrangements.  Please visit www.alnwickgarden.com to arrange a visit.
 
We ask that you do not visit the site if you, or any of your group, are showing symptoms of COVID-19.  This includes a high temperature, a new continuous cough, and loss of taste or smell.  If you have a visit booked, please contact us prior to your arrival time and we would be happy to re-arrange your visit for you.  Please call 01665 511 100 and we can check future availability for you.

All tickets purchased via our website are automatic annual passes. Tickets purchased at the Castle Admission office can be upgraded at no additional cost on the day of your visit at the Admission Office

 
Castle Annual Pass Terms and Conditions
  • Tickets are not transferable and are non-refundable
  • Annual Passes are valid for a 12 month period from the date of the first visit giving unlimited re-visits to Alnwick Castle during opening times only
  • Annual Passes must be shown at the point of entry on each re-visit and ticket holders must present ID
  • We recommend pre-booking your visit during peak times to avoid disappointment due to limited daily capacity.  Outside of peak times, walk ups are more readily available though you are welcome to pre-book if you wish
  • All adult ticket holders must provide basic contact details at time of purchase
  • Tickets are not valid for entry to evening events
  • Tickets not valid for the Annual Pass scheme include the following:
    • Group rate admission
    • Educational rate admission
    • HHA membership visits
    • Max card discounted visits
    • Complimentary visits
  • If you lose your annual pass, please contact us to arrange a replacement
  
Max card holders
Holders of a valid max card are entitled to discounted entry.  Maxmimum allowance is 2 half price adults and up to 4 free children (5 - 16 years).  Discount will be applied on production of a valid max card at the gate on arrival. 
 
Unaccompanied Children
Children aged 16 years or under must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times. 
 
Bag searches in place
Visitors are respectfully informed that enhanced security measures are in place and you are requested to bring the minimum of bags during your visit. Please note that random bag searches may take place. Your kind cooperation with these procedures, which have been implemented for the benefit and security of visitors and staff alike, is much appreciated. 
 
Photography policy
Please note that photography is not permitted within the State Rooms without prior arrangement. However, photography of the exterior of Alnwick Castle is encouraged for all visitors.
 
Drone filming and photography
Drone photography and filming is not permitted from within the castle grounds without prior consent. We ask all other drone users to be respectful of our visitors and staff, and considerate that Alnwick Castle is a family home. Please ensure that all CAA regulations are adherred to. Repair and conservation works
Due to the historic nature of the castle, a great deal of work is required to maintain the condition of the building and its grounds.  During your visit, you are likely to encounter scaffolding and building works as part of an ongoing project undertaking repairs.  These repairs ensure that the castle will stay in excellent condition for many generations to come.  Please get in touch for further details on how these works may affect your visit.

Overview
This is a legal document ("Agreement") which sets out your rights and obligations, and those of Alnwick Castle ("Alnwick Castle", "we" or "us"), in relation to this website (the "Site"), and the material of all types that you gain access to on and through the Site ("Content"). The Site is provided from England for access and use by people both there and elsewhere. If you visit the Site from outside England, you are, in effect, visiting the territory of England. Effect of agreement
Alnwick Castle intends to rely upon the written terms set out here. If you require any changes, please make sure you ask for these to be put in writing. In that way, we can avoid any problems surrounding what Alnwick Castle and you the Customer is expected to do.

Postage avaialble within UK only.

Refund policy
Unused goods in a saleable condition can be returned with the original receipt up to 28 days after purchase for a refund or exchange (exchange only without a valid receipt). Postage will only be refunded if goods are faulty. Items should be returned to us at:
