Throughout the opening weekend our Northumbrian Piper will be at the castle to play beautiful and traditional music on the Northumbrian small pipes.
Traditional Northumbrian Music
Alnwick Castle has a long association with the Northumbrian pipes. For nearly 300 years, an official piper has been invited by Dukes and Duchesses of Northumberland to play music at important events and occasions. We are delighted to have a Northumbrian piper with us to mark the beginning of our 2025 season, and the opening of the Great Kitchen to visitors for the first time.
