We are delighted to be able to host the 12th Duke of Northumberland for a literary event to celebrate the release of his new book, Lions of the Red Rose, a history of his Percy family ancestors during the Wars of the Roses.

Amid a bloody feud, four warrior brothers seek vengeance for the brutal assassination of their father during the Wars of the Roses, a blood-soaked struggle for survival between two Royal English dynasties. It is not hard to appreciate why this period in British history became the inspiration for George RR Martin’s Game of Thrones.

Join us in the Guest Hall of Alnwick Castle to hear the Duke of Northumberland explore this fascinating story in an exclusive talk. Attendees will also gain out-of-hours access to Alnwick Castle's new exhibition accompanying Lions of the Red Rose.

Your ticket also includes a welcome drink on arrival. A proportion of all ticket sales will be donated to The Battlefields Trust, whose important work helps preserve many of the sites described within the book.

Gates open: 6.30pm
Talk begins: 7pm
Exhibition access from: 8pm
