We are delighted to welcome a master archer to Alnwick Castle to demonstrate the medieval skill of archery with a traditional longbow.

The English longbow determined the outcome of many medieval battles, and was often used to deadly effect, most famously at the Battle of Agincourt. Alnwick Castle's own Harry 'Hotspur' Percy is thought to have been killed by an arrow from a longbow in the Battle of Shrewsbury in 1403!

If you're feeling inspired, why not then have a go yourself with our own archery experts? This event is free with admission; check times and location on arrival.
