Elizabethan Falconry
Displays and Demonstrations take place at 11am, 1pm, & 3pm.
Meet our finely dressed Elizabethan falconers as they recreate the noble art of falconry in the spectacular castle grounds. Falconry was a favourite pursuit of Elizabethan nobles and courtiers. The falcon was closely associated with Anne Boleyn, mother of Elizabeth I, whose badge featured a crowned white falcon. Before her marriage to Henry VIII, Anne was romantically linked to Henry Percy, 6th Earl of Northumberland.
